About Ice Cube
Born on June 15, 1969, in Los Angeles, California, rapper and actor Ice Cube – whose real name is O’Shea Jackson – started his music career as a member of C.I.A., a hip-hop group he formed with two of his friends. He would later join the group N.W.A., which in 1988 also included Arabian Prince, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, DJ Yella, and MC Ren. Ice Cube left, however, in 1989 to pursue a solo career and released his debut album AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted the next year. He followed it with the Platinum-selling EP Kill At Will. Throughout the 1990s, Ice Cube released the albums Death Certificate in 1991, The Predator in 1992, Lethal Injection in 1993, and War & Peace Vol. 1 (The War Disc) in 1998. Volume 2 was then released in 2000, the year that he embarked on a tour with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem. Ice Cube would release Laugh Now, Cry Later in 2006, Raw Footage in 2008, I Am the West in 2010, and Everythang’s Corrupt in 2014. In addition to an extremely successful music career, Ice Cube has been noted for his film appearances, including Boyz n the Hood in 1992, the Friday franchise, the Barbershop franchise, and in 21 Jump Street.
