About Fat Joe
Fat Joe is the stage name of the American rapper and actor Joseph Antonio Cartagena. Cartagena was born in The Bronx, New York City, New York on August 19, 1970. He is known for his solo career and for being part of the rap groups D.I.T.C. and Terror Squad. He started his career under the stage name Fat Joe da Gangsta and was part of the rap group D.I.T.C. He was signed to the label Relativity Records and released his debut solo album titled Represent. Fat Joe has since released the albums Jealous One’s Envy, Don Cartagena, Jealous Ones Still Envy, Loyalty, All or Nothing, Me, Myself & I, The Elephant in the Room, Jealous Ones Still Envy 2, The Darkside Vol. 1, and Family Ties. Most of his albums charted on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. He has also released three mixtapes and a collaborative album. In 1999 he made his debut in film in the movie Thicker Than Water and has since had roles in the films Prison Song, Empire, Scary Movie 3, Happy Feet, Supermodel, and Night School. He has also had a role on the television show She’s Gotta Have It and voiced characters in the video games Def Jam Fight For NY and Def Jam Fight for NY: The Takeover. Throughout his career he has been nominated for several awards and has won a Billboard Latin Music Award and an ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Award.
